Lime – Elements of the Mexican kitchen we love

Lime

When you travel to Mexico you will notice we let it rain when it comes to limes. Lime goes on everything, a taquería that doesn’t give you limes is definitely not a true Mexican taquería. The most common lime is called “limón agrio”. Here are some of the things we use lime in:

Tacos:

Any taco. Really. There is not a single exception of a taco where you don’t use lime.

Soups and broths:

Almost the same as tacos, except when it’s a creamy soup. It’s not so common but still people won’t look at you weird.

Vegetables:

On every salad. We also slice up carrots, jicamas and cucumbers, lime, salt and dry peppers and a healthy snack ready to go!

Fruits:

Papaya with salt and lime, a classic, watermelon or mango with lime and dry peppers, a second classic.

Drinks:

Beer, tequila, margaritas

Thank you lime for being so versatile. We love you very much.
